Lifeline and Link-Up are programs which provide discounts on local landline telephone service to low-income residents who qualify. The programs offer monetary assistance to qualified residential customers. They are designed to ensure that basic telephone connection (hookup) and service remain affordable to all S.C. residents.
The Lifeline assistance program provides a $13.50 credit on the monthly residential landline telephone bill ($162.50 in savings per year).
You may qualify for Lifeline and Link-Up based on your income (restrictions may apply) or if you receive one of the following:
- Family Independence (TANF)
- Food Stamps
- Medicaid
